The Ministry of Blue Economy and Aviation (MBECA) said it is livestreaming what it calls a high-level event on Fisheries law enforcement and the International and Caribbean Instruments on Transnational Organized Crime in the global fishing industry.
The event is sponsored by Norway in cooperation with CARICOM, Jamaica, Belize, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and UNDP.
The event is focusing on fisheries enforcement and the international and regional instruments to cooperatively tackle organized crime in the global fishing industry.
“The event will highlight international and regional measures to address fisheries crime towards reducing food security threats via the use of innovative digital tools and inter-agency capacity support,” said Ocean Innovation Challenge and Ocean Action Hub.
Speakers will include the Norwegian Minister of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, Ministers responsible for Fisheries from Belize, Jamaica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
