Ministry of Agriculture CEO Servulo Baeza attends the Central American Council of Ministers of Agriculture in Panama

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) Servulo Baeza is representing Belize at the second ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Agriculture of the Central American Integration System and the Central American Agricultural Council (SICA-CAC) in Panama.

CEO Baeza is deputizing for MAFSE Minister Jose Abelardo Mai.

The two-day meeting which started on Wednesday, June 29, is chaired by Augusto Valderrama, Minister of Agriculture of Panama, and President pro tempore of the CAC.

According to the Belize Ministry of Agriculture, the SICA-CAC meeting includes presentations by representatives from the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and reports and presentations on the SICA Strategy for Rural Youth.

The meeting will also include intersectoral meetings with representatives from Ministries of Agriculture and of Foreign Trade from member countries.

The meeting concludes on Thursday.
