Police continue investigations in Derrick Banner’s fatal accident

By Aaron Humes: Police in San Ignacio are looking into what caused 30-year-old employee of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing Derrick Banner to overturn a John Deere tractor on the road to Cristo Rey village on Saturday morning.

Police found the tractor overturned on the side of the road just before 7 a.m. Saturday and Banner, who was driving, with ultimately fatal injuries.

Banner, according to the Ministry, was on his way to a community clean-up event in the village of San Antonio, along the Caracol Road. He died while undergoing treatment in hospital. Investigations continue.
