By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Marketing and Development Corporation (BMDC) is buying and distributing local produce.
“BMDC honoring its commitment to support local producers by purchasing and distributing local products (lettuce),” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) in a social media post.
According to MAFSE, farmers from the villages of La Gracia, San Antonio, and Valley of Peace in the Cayo District are benefitting from the initiative.
“Similarly, BMDC has made arrangements with Bomba Farmers Coop to ensure market access of local yellow onions through the Corporation’s distribution channels.”
MAFSE called the attention of its followers to “the healthy, attractive appearance of the lettuce”.
