Caribbean Rum Boyz, Progresso, Mavericks, San Pedro Conquerors, Kelly Street Bombers win home and away games in NBB Amateur Interdistrict Competition

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Caribbean Rum Boyz, Progresso, Mavericks, San Pedro Conquerors and Kelly Street Bombers prevailed in home and away games in National Bank of Belize Amateur Interdistrict Competition and qualify to Round 2 along with Belize City’s Lake I and Griga Conquerors.

Orange Walk’s Caribbean Rum Boyz beat the Corozal United Ballers 3-0 at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal Town on Sunday and qualified on a 6-0 aggregate having won the first game in Orange Walk by the same score. The United Ballers with six goals against are one of the four teams eliminated from the cup tournament.

The other Orange Walk side, Progresso FC dropped San Pedro’s Joker FC 3-1 to post an aggregate of 8-2 having blown the opponents 5-1 in Game 1. With their -6 goal differential, Joker Fc also became one of the four eliminated teams.

The Toledo Mavericks downed Belize City’s Lake Independence 2-1 at the MCC Grounds in Belize City on Sunday. Last week they tied 3-3 in Punta Gorda, so the Mavericks qualify to the second round on their 5-4 aggregate. Lake I also make it to the next round

San Pedro Conquerors blanked Flames 2-0 in San Ignacio at the Norman Broaster Stadium on Sunday qualifying to the next round and eliminated the Cayo side. Last week, the Conquerors won 3-1 so they make it to the next round on a 5-1 aggregate.

Belize City’s Kelly Street Bombers exacted revenge on the Griga Conquerors with a 3-0 drubbing at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga after falling 1-2 last week in Belize City. The 4-2 win sends Kelly Street to the Round of Sixteen. But their -2 goal differential wasn’t enough for the Griga Conquerors to be eliminated. So, they remain alive.
