By Aaron Humes:The Daily Mail (UK) reports that users worldwide, but particularly in major cities in the United States and the United Kingdom, are presently experiencing outages on popular social media platforms Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram – all owned by Meta.
According to Down Detector, a website that monitors such outages, reports of problems began to surface just before 9 a.m. Belize time.
Users have said they cannot access Facebook via the app or website, while there also seems to be problems accessing Facebook Messenger.
Instagram, also owned by Facebook’s parent company Meta, appears to be having issues too.
It is unclear what is the cause of the outage, according to the Mail.
