By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after being charged with stealing from his job.
Everald Sambula, 43, appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with one count of theft and one count of handling stolen goods.
In court, Sambula pleaded not guilty to the charges and since there was no objection to bail, it was granted to him in the sum of $2,500 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.
He is due back in court on August 17.
The allegations against him are that on June 13, he stole a number of devices including, speakers, cellphones, earbuds, and smart watches, all to a total value of $9,516. Police later found some of the items during the search of a guest house on North Front Street and say that they managed to link the items to Sambula.
