By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Minister of Defense Florencio Marin Jr visited the southernmost coastal village of Barranco to discuss community engagement and border security.

“The southernmost coastal village of Barranco is an important community that contributes to Belize’s cultural heritage and traditions. Today the area commander Ensign Andrew Moody hosted the Minister of National Defence and Border Security, the Honorable Florencio Marin Jr during his southern tour,” said the Belize Coast Guard.

“The village chairlady, Mrs. Beatrice Mariano accompanied us as we discussed community engagement and border security matters in areas where the Ministry and the village can cooperate.”

According to the Belize Coast Guard, Minister Marin was accompanied by Minister of State Minister Oscar Mira and Chief Executive Officer Dario Tapia during his visit.
