By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize is working on digitizing its health system and is developing and implementing a Clinical Data Exchange Platform (CEDP).
PAHO/WHO Belize said on Wednesday it held a meeting with the Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard and Directors of the Ministry of Health & Wellness along with key stakeholders from E-Governance, CITO, NHI, and GOPA/Proman “to discuss the vision, goal, risks, and opportunities of developing the CDEP in Belize”.
“This will allow interconnectivity and interoperability between different platforms such as Belize’s Health Information System (BHIS) to help the health sector undergo a smoother and more efficient digital transition,” said PAHO/WHO Belize.
PAHO/WHO Belize said the Clinical Data Exchange Platform is being funded through the European Union’s Health Sector Support Programme.
