By Aaron Humes: 186 employees of the Central Bank of Belize are protected in terms of working conditions for the next three years following the signing of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Bank, which is a statutory body, and the Christian Workers’ Union (CWU) on behalf of workers.
An official statement from the Government says the new agreement “seeks to maintain and enhance the good relations that exist between the bank and the union. … The ministry continues to work closely with employers and employees across the country to promote good industrial relations, fairness, impartiality and tripartism for the benefit of all.
The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government has issued congratulations to the Central Bank of Belize and the CWU on the timely conclusion of the CBA, as well as the spirit of goodwill and collaboration that prevailed throughout the negotiations.
