Belize Weather: Change in store as tropical wave approaches

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service says relatively fair conditions will prevail this morning, but an increase in shower activity is expected later today as a tropical wave approaches.

At first, skies will be sunny with some cloudy spells; showers or thunderstorms will be generally isolated with a slight increase this afternoon, mostly over the center and south. Tonight, skies will be cloudy at times with a few showers and thunderstorms affecting mostly coastal and southern areas, decreasing by morning.

High temperatures will reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 92 degrees in inland areas and 80 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 74 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds will start from the east to northeast at five to 15 knots, becoming east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots. Seas will be light chop to choppy with waves of two to five feet.

Tides will be low at 11:46 this morning and 11:04 this evening and high at 5:49 this evening. Sunset is at 6:31 and sunrise on Saturday is at 5:24.

Saturday brings mostly fair weather with a few cloudy spells and generally isolated showers or thunderstorms except over the south.
