Cayo police find a cache of high-caliber ammunition in an abandoned house

Posted: Friday, July 8, 2022. 7:29 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: Police officers in the Cayo district found a cache of high-caliber ammunition in an abandoned house today.

Officers were conducting searches in St. Margaret’s Village today and found a black plastic bag that contained (39) 5.56 live rounds of ammunition.

Police sources say that the department does not issue licenses for that caliber ammunition to civilians.

No one was in the area at the time, and as a result, items were sealed, labeled, and deposited as found property.
