Clint Geban walks from aggravated assault with a firearm charge; victim wanted no further action

By BBN Staff: Twenty-two-year-old Belize City resident, Clint Geban evaded prison time this week after the prosecution dropped a serious charge against him.

Geban, who was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court to learn that the female complainant had given a statement to police that she wanted no further court action.

The victim told police that the incident, which occurred on November 8, 2021, was a mistake and that she had forgiven the parties involved. With that, Geban was free to go.

He had been on remand at the Belize Central Prison since November 17, 2021.
