By BBN Staff: Raheem Burdan, 19, along with his co-accused 21-year-old Kareem Eaghan Jr. are awaiting a sentencing hearing set for July 29 after being found guilty of the murder of Shane Budram, Raheem’s uncle.
The duo were found guilty in the supreme Court on wednesday, following a trial without jury before Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft.
Jusitce Sandcroft, in a 50-page judgment, explained that, after careful consideration of the facts of the case, he found the men guilty of the joint enterprise of murder.
The crown’s key witness testified that she was present when the uncle and nephew had a heated argument on February 21, 2020. The witness testified that, once the argument had escalated to its peak, Raheem called out to Eghan, who pulled out a firearm and shot Shane Budram up to 10 times.
