16 teams are playing in the NBB-Interdistrict Amateur Football Cup second round this weekend, only eight will survive

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Of the 16 teams that made it to the second round in the National Bank of Belize Interdistrict Amateur Competition (NBB-IAC); only eight will survive.

The NBB-IAC features five games on Saturday and three on Sunday.

The Top 16 from the initial Round of 20 qualified to the second round. Of the 16, the Top 8 will play at home this weekend in games labeled A-H.

Matches A, B, D, F, and G play on Saturday, July 9.

In Match A, Atlético FC face Santa Elena Royal United at 8:00 pm at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.

In Match B, Progresso FC take on Belmopan’s Galacticos at 4:30 pm at the Louisiana Football Field.

In Match D, Conquerors tangle with Belize City’s Lake I FC at 7:00 pm at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro

In Match F, Benque Verdes Jrs clash with Griga Conquerors at 7:00 pm at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen.

In Match G, Libertad FC play Kelly Street Bombers at 7:00 pm at the Santiago Ricalde Stadium in Corozal Town.

Matches C, E, and H play on Sunday, July 10.

In Match C, Caribbean Rum Boyz battle Benque Viejo del Carmen’s Zboys at 4:30 pm at the Louisiana Football Field.

In Match E, Hopkins Ibayani measure up against Bella Vista FC at 4:30 pm at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga.

In Match H, Mavericks host Bambas from Independence at 3:00 pm at the Victor Sanchez Stadium in Punta Gorda.

Next week, the winners of the A, B, C, and D games will play at home against the H, G, F, and E winners respectively.
