By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Model, actress, singer, and businesswoman, Naomi Campbell was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the University for the Creative Arts for her contribution and impact on global fashion, BBC reports.
The English Supermodel began her fashion career when she was 15 years old. She became the first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue and Time magazines.
Then in 2005, Campbell founded the charity Fashion for Relief, which fund-raised fashion shows for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Upon receiving her Honorary Ph.D., Campbell encouraged the graduating class to never quit.
“Never let anyone change the way you feel, change the course of what you and your vision and what you want for yourself. Never quit,” Campbell told the graduands.
Campbell recently became a first-time mom to a baby girl.
