BEL says outage in Belize District on Sunday to last until 3:00 pm

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: BEL says a power outage in areas of Belize District will last until 3:00 pm on Sunday.

BEL said the areas being affected are the entire Ladyville, entire Lord’s Bank and Lake Garden and the portion along Philip Goldson Highway from Fen Lan at Mile 4½ to Mile 7½ Philip Goldson Highway which includes Withfield Court community, Courtney Estate, Palmgrove Estate, Driftwood Bay and all customers up to Car One Rental, across from Midway Wholesale.

BEL said the outage is necessary “to conduct maintenance and testing of equipment at Ladyville Substation, power line upgrades, repair equipment and hardware on the transmission system, install hardware on the distribution system and replace utility poles in the area.”

Additionally, BEL planned two 15-minute power outages. The first one was from 7:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. from Sunday morning. The other will be on Sunday afternoon from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This 15-minute outage will also affect “areas along Philip Goldson Highway from Henderson Avenue at Mile 2.5 to Mile 37 on Philip Goldson Highway including Ariel Rosado Avenue, Chetumal Street from Philip Goldson Highway to Park Avenue, entire Bella Vista, Driftwood Bay, Belama Phases 2, 3 and 4 and North End Estate, Dew Drop Estate, Los Lagos, Maxboro, Double Run, Salt Creek, Sandhill, Maxboro, Gardenia, Biscayne, Crooked Tree, Rhaburn Ridge; all communities along the Old Northern Highway including Boston, Rockstone Pond, Lucky Strike, Santana, St. Anne’s, Chicago, Corozalito, and Maskall.’
