BREAKING: Darios Meat Pies announces price increase due to rising production costs!

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, Darios Meat Pies, one of the most popular brands in Belize City, announced an incoming price increase.

Darios took to its Facebook page this evening to say that the increasing cost of doing business has forced the change.

“Due to the rise in cost of production, we regretfully inform the public that price of pies/patty will change from $1.25 to $1.50 each starting Monday July 18 2022,” Darios said. “Also price for Delivered pies will be $1.75 each (delivery included).”

The company apologized for the inconvenience. The increase in meat pies follows the increase in flour, bread, and most recently eggs, as external forces continue to drive up inflation worldwide.

We note that the prices quoted are for customers buying directly from Darios, those buying from other sources currently pay between $2.00 and $2.25 per meat pie, depending on the vendor. It is unknown how the price increase will affect the prices at retailers.
