Posted: Tuesday, July 12, 2022. 6:02 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Kareem Smith, also known as “Flash,” has been granted bail by the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for a firearm and assault charge he picked up last year.

Smith, who recently walked from a murder charge when the prosecution entered a nolle prosequi, was charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm, keeping unlicensed ammunition, and aggravated assault on a female police officer.

His bail was offered in the sum of $5,000 plus two sureties of $2,500 each. The court also set a curfew of 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily, for him. Smith is also to sign in at a designated police station three times a week.

|The incident occurred in September 2021, when police found Smith with an unlicensed .32 pistol which contained 16 live rounds. He tried to escape and in doing so pushed the female police officer out of the way as he ran.
