September Celebrations 2022 Theme announced

By Aaron Humes: In what the Government hopes will reflect the national mood, the official theme of the 2022 September Celebrations was revealed in Belize City this afternoon.

Submitted by a teacher from Belmopan Sheryl Distan, it reads: “Valiant and Bold, Proud and Strong! Belize Rebounds @ 41!” Distan won a prize for her efforts.

“Valiant and bold” comes from the National Anthem and is used to describe “our fathers, the Baymen.”

The 2022 September Celebrations will be the first held in near-to-normal circumstances since before the pandemic, with a full calendar planned including the return of Carnival, Expo Belize, and other traditions.

The Tenth falls on a Saturday this year and will be celebrated on that day while the 21st is on a Wednesday.
