Breaking Belize News refutes false defamatory claims by Port of Belize Ltd.

Posted: Friday, July 15, 2022. 12:26 pm CST.

Breaking Belize News (BBN) repudiates in the strongest terms a false and inaccurate claim by the Port of Belize Limited with regard to a news story that never appeared on our website or any of our associated platforms.

BBN categorically rejects the assertion that we ever posted any news article about a fire at the Port or any injuries relating to same. The article in question, rather, was posted by two other online Facebook news pages, which, unlike Breaking Belize News, are not registered tax-paying entities.

BBN agrees with the Port of Belize Limited on their assertion that such reports were highly irresponsible, quite much the same way the post made by the Port of Belize was highly irresponsible without doing its due diligence before so publicly embarrassing itself.

Such false accusations against our brand hurt our public image and standing and injures our reputation with blatant defamatory content.

We make a public demand to the Port of Belize to issue an immediate apology to BBN and to also remove said post.
