Posted: Friday, July 15, 2022. 2:37 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Leslie Young Jr., 18, who is currently on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being accused of shooting up a house at the corner of Parks and Giles Street in May, has had a charge of damage to property withdrawn against him after the victim requested in court to withdraw the complaint.

Young Jr., however, remains on remand in prison with a far more serious charge of discharging a firearm in public stemming from the same incident. The complainant was questioned about whether or not she was coerced into dropping the charges but she said no so the court withdrew the damage to property charge.

Young Jr. inquired about bail but was informed by Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford that she will consider the matter of bail until his next court appearance on August 9.
