More than 300 people in Spain dead due to record heat wave

Posted: Saturday, July 16, 2022. 1:56 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Record heat waves and devastating droughts across Europe have claimed the lives of 360 people in Spain since July 10, the DailyBeast reports.

The historic heat wave is also responsible for the deaths of several cold water reptiles at the Madrid Zoo.

According to reports, temperatures around 115 degrees have been experienced for several days in a row.

The Spanish Government has now urged the public to limit their exposure to the heat and ban some tourist activities.

The drought has also led to water restrictions including turning off the ornamental fountains in Milan.

In London, the meteorology office issued a red warning since they expect extreme temperatures.

Weather agencies across the region warn that it may be another week before temperatures start to return to normal.
