Shaun Gill represents Belize in World Athletics Championships in Oregon

By Aaron Humes: The World Athletics Championships are underway in Eugene, Oregon, with Belize’s sole participant, Shaun Gill, 29, appearing in the men’s 100 metres.

On Friday, Gill ran 10.76 seconds to progress out of the preliminary round as one of the next fastest qualifiers after finishing fourth in his heat.

However, in the first-round proper later on Friday night, Gill’s 10.77-second mark was not good enough, as he came last in a heat featuring American contender Trayvon Bromell.

Gill is an Olympian who participated in the Tokyo Games last year.
