By Benjamin Flowers: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams confirmed today that he has revoked the gun license of former deputy mayor Micah Goodin.
Goodin, who is still a Belize City Councillor, was involved in a shooting incident on the night of Saturday, May 14, while he was with Tarique James, who also had his license revoked due to the incident.
In June, the Commissioner issued Goodin and James letters informing them of the issue they faced and gave them the opportunity to respond in writing, explaining why their licenses should not be revoked.
The incident also put Goodin, who had recently been promoted to Deputy Mayor in a position where his fellow councilors said that if he did not resign from the post, they would vote to remove him. He later tendered his resignation.
