Man charged for stealing his partner’s cell phone after going through her messages

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after being accused of stealing his partner’s cell phone.

On Monday, 31-year-old Michael Young appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single charge of theft.

Allegations against him are that after a domestic dispute with his partner, over some text messages he found on her phone, he took the phone from her.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and since there was no objection to bail, it was granted to him in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.

He is due back in court on September 5.
