By BBN Staff: On Thursday, 33-year-old Jin Lian Zhang, one of five people arrested in a drugs and ammunition bust at a shop in Belize City, was granted bail in the Supreme Court.
There was no objection to bail by the prosecution so it was granted to her in the sum of $10,000, plus one surety of the same. The conditions of her bail stipulate that she must surrender all travel documents and sign in at a designated police station three times a week.
Zhang was arrested along with her husband 32-year-old, Shop owner, Zhi Jun Huang as well as employees 19-year-old, Seth Carillo, 32-year-old Cameron Slusher, and 19-year-old Ana Muchuca.
Police conducted a raid at the shop on Douglas Jones Street on Friday, July 15, where they found 2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 4 grams of cocaine, and a total of 170 grams of marijuana in three different portions, and 18 live rounds of .9mm ammunition
Carillo, owned up to 22 grams of marijuana and was fined $605 because he is a first offender.
Muchuca, Slusher, and Carillo were also jointly charged for drug trafficking and pleaded not guilty. They were all offered bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount, which they were all able to meet.
