Trip to the grocery store turns fatal for 25-year-old Lisandro Martinez

By Benjamin Flowers: Police say that 25-year-old Guinea Grass villager Lisandro Martinez was returning from the grocery store when he was fatally shot last night.

The official police report issued this morning said Martinez had asked an 18-year-old villager from Boston to take him to the supermarket at Mile 19 on the Maskall Road to pick up some groceries and was on the way back when a black car drove up to them and the person in the front passenger seat fired four shots. The rider managed to make it back to his home in Boston and discovered that Martinez had been shot.

He was transported via private vehicle to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but later died of his injuries.

Police are investigating.
