Hurricane Center monitoring 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is keeping a close look on 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic.

A tropical wave located west-northwest of Cape Verde continues to move slowly to the west at 9 mph.

Another tropical wave in the Caribbean extends from Haiti south. It’s moving to the west at 17 mph.

The third tropical wave is located off the Yucatan Peninsula in the western Caribbean.

Forecasters say that conditions may start to become a little more conducive for tropical development toward the end of July.

The public is reminded to remain alert and prepared.
