Belize Weather: More rain than sun to start weekend

By BBN Staff: Moist and unstable conditions continue to prevail according to the National Meteorological Service.

Skies today and tonight will be cloudy with a few sunny breaks in the daytime. Expect a few outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms over most areas and especially along the coast and in the south.

High temperatures will be 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 89 degrees in inland areas and 80 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 80 degrees along the coast; 72 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The seas will be choppy with waves of three to five feet. A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Tides will be low at 1:29 this afternoon, then high at 7:49 this evening. Sunset is at 6:29 this evening and sunrise on Sunday morning at 5:29.

Skies will be cloudy in intervals with isolated showers and thunderstorms except in the north and south on Sunday.
