By Benjamin Flowers: The Rotary To Airline Group (RTAG), a non-profit that seeks to help veterans in finding employment in the Airline Industry, regardless of their experience, recently highlighted Belizean pilot D’Troy Pastor, in its member spotlight social media post.
The member spotlight underscored Pastor’s professional and academic history, including his six years at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned an A.S. in Aircraft Armament Systems and a B.S. in Workforce Education and Development; spent six years contracting in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates after leaving the United States Air Force; and the completion of his Commerical Certificate with Academy of Aviation, LLC. Pastor then moved to Belize where he spent 20 months accumulating time as a Tropic Air Belize First Officer on the Cessna Caravan.
“He even experienced an accident during his time there, but that didn’t stop him,” RTAG said. “Upon returning home, D’Troy received a CJO from CommutAir Recruiting and has been operating as a First Officer ever since. He hopes to transition to a larger airframe in the future, either for a major domestic carrier or an overseas carrier like Emirates.”
RTAG also noted that Pastor remains an active member in his spare time and hopes to assist and inspire more of those he has connected with through enlistment to seek a carer with the airlines.
