San Pedro Conquerors drop Atlético 3-2 in NBB Amateur Interdistrict Competition semifinals

The San Pedro Conquerors shocked Club Atlético 3-2 on Saturday night at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan in the first leg of the NBB Amateur Interdistrict Competition (NBB-AIC) semifinals.

Earlier we reported that Conquerors had eliminated Atlético because the FFB had said the entire tournament would be on one-shot knockout. There would be no home and away games the FFB said when the competition started. But the FFB reportedly met with the first semifinalists last week and changed the semifinals to home and away. The FFB made no public announcement of their decision so only a few people knew.

As it happens, Atlético are still alive and have the return match to be played this coming weekend in San Pedro against the Conquerors.
