By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Sunday, officials in Mexico detained over 200 migrants, mostly of Guatemalan nationality at a warehouse in Mexico, Reuters report.
The group of migrants was reportedly waiting to be smuggled to the U.S.
The National Migration Institute in Mexico (INM) noted that 225 migrants were found and 194 of them were Guatemalans.
There were also 14 Hondurans, 9 Nicaraguans, 5 Cubans and 3 Salvadorans.
Meanwhile, officials in the United States continue to warn migrants not to take the dangerous journey to cross the U.S- Mexico border.
Statistics indicate that apprehensions of migrants on the U.S. southern border have jumped to their highest levels in years.
