Man allegedly beats up partner after she refused to have sex with him

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after allegedly beating up his partner when she refused to have sex with him upon request.

Twenty-five-year-old Jerome Goff appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, answering to a single charge of harm, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Goff was offered bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which he met and was told he cannot interfere with the complainant or her relatives while he is out on bail.

He is due back in court on September 5.

The 22-year-old victim reported to police that on Friday, July 22, around 5:00 p.m. she was at home with Goff who requested sex. When she refused, he accused her of being unfaithful, and in a rage punched her in the face.
