By BBN Staff: A shoplifter was fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s court this week after pleading guilty to stealing two bottles of carpet cleaner valued at $19.
Forty-year-old Everaldo Garcia, appeared unrepresented in court where he was accused of stealing the items, valued at $9.50 each, from a supermarket on Mahogany Street, Belize City.
Garcia wasted no time in pleading guilty to the charge of theft.
The court fined him $400 plus $5 cost of court, which he must pay by September 15 or face four months in prison.
He was caught on Sunday, July 24, running out of the store with the items stuffed into his pants.
