By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Personnel from the Pesticides Control Board (PCB) trained farmers from the Concepcion Vegetable Farmers’ Co-operative on chemical handling on Wednesday, July 27.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise said the training held under a shed in a farm in Concepcion in the Corozal District focused on equipment calibration and dosage calculation of agro-chemicals.
“The training session came about as the relevant entities find it important to educate the producer public about correct practices in the field, especially relating to pesticides use in agriculture,” said MAFSE.
MAFSE’s Extension Services, Resilient Rural Belize (RRB) in the Ministry of Economic Development, and Department of Co-operatives coordinated the workshop.
The Concepcion Vegetable Farmers’ Co-operative became a cooperative on June 3.
