68-year-old man accused of trying to grope 8-year-old girl is out on bail

By BBN Staff: A 68-year-old man charged with trying to inappropriately touch an 8-year-old girl was granted bail in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today.

George Zetina appeared unrepresented, answering to a single charge of sexual assault to which he pleaded not guilty.

There was no objection to bail and as such it was granted to him in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same, which he was able to meet.

Allegations against him are that on Tuesday, July 26, Zetina approached the child, who was playing in an abandoned building, and put his hand on her shoulder. He then attempted to touch her sexually but the child ran off and told her mother. Police later arrested Zetina.
