By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Tuesday, authorities in Mexico made a historic drug bust as they seized $20 million worth of cocaine, Latin Post reports.
Police reportedly stopped 2 freight trucks that were carrying 1.6 tons of cocaine in the Gustavo Madero neighborhood of Mexico City.
The cocaine was wrapped in packets and hidden inside secret compartments of the 2 trucks.
Police say that the drug bust is the largest in the history of Mexico City.
It is believed that the cocaine came from Colombia, entered Mexico through Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, and was destined for the U.S.
Four men were arrested and the investigation continues as police believe that a Mexican drug cartel coordinated the shipment.
