By Aaron Humes: On the eve of a new school year, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology is beginning to lay the ground work for how Belizean classrooms of the future will look, and what our children will be learning in them.
After consultation across the education and other sectors, the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) is being launched this morning in Belize City at the House of Culture.
CEO in the Ministry Dian Castillo-Maheia stated that the framework is built on the principles of creativity, equity, and a “can-do spirit” which guided the finding of solutions to problems and obtaining consultation with stakeholders. She recognized a leadership at Government level that believes in Belize and its future and stated that the result is something that is uniquely Belizean and will benefit Belize first.
