By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic.
A tropical wave located north of Cape Verde is moving to the west at 19 mph. It’s embedded in dry Saharan air, which is inhibiting development.
The second tropical wave is located in the central Atlantic between the British Virgin Islands and Cape Verde. It’s moving to the west at 15 mph and is also embedded in dry Saharan air.
The third tropical wave located in the western Caribbean off the Yucatan Peninsula is moving to the west at 13mph and is also being closely watched.
The public is reminded to remain alert and prepared.
