Belize’s Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow meets US State Department officials

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s Leader of the Opposition (LOO) Shyne Barrow reported on Friday that he met with United States State Department officials in Washington DC.

“Belize has no greater partner in the region than the United States thus it is crucial we work closely together with our ally to protect the values and principles that form the bedrock of our Nations,” said Barrow.

They discussed “strengthening Democracy and Freedom throughout Central America and the Caribbean,” said the Leader of the Opposition.

They also discussed correspondent banking, the economic development of Belize through the U.S. $200-$500 million Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant program, migration, climate change, inflation, and citizen security.

“The Opposition thanks the U.S. for her generosity and commitment to Belize,” said Barrow.
