San Pedro Pirates drop Wagiya 2-0 to kick off with good start in 2022-23 the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Opening Season

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The San Pedro Pirates recorded their first win in the 2022-23 the Premier League of Belize’s (PLB) Opening Season on Saturday as they downed the visiting Wagiya 2-0.

In the match played at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro, the Pirates converted a goal in each half to take the win.

Simeon Rivero got the opener in the 25’ and Mario Chimal put the game away in the 55’.

Next Saturday, the San Pedro Pirates will again play at home, this time against national subchampions Altitude who also won 2-0 on Saturday over Benque Viejo United.

Wagiya, who had a bad start, will defend the home fort at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga on Sunday, August 7, against the Belmopan Bandits who also fell 0-1 to Progresso FC.
