By Benjamin Flowers: In late June, Leader of the Opposition United Democratic Party Moses “Shyne” Barrow stepped back into his former rap star life to perform at the BET Awards. This weekend he stepped behind the mic again to record a dub plate for music producer DJ Khaled.
Khaled made several posts of a studio session on his Instagram account, showing Barrow recording an altered version of his 2000 hit single “Bad Boy”.
When Khaled introduced Barrow to the cameras he simply replied, “Belize.”
The gesture is considered good exposure for Belize as Khaled is one of the biggest names in US rap music. DJ Khaled has over 29.8 million followers on social media, and an island in Belize named after him.
