UDP says Leader of the Opposition needs police protection from “public threats”

By Aaron Humes: Deputy chairman of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Alberto August said today that it is not enough for Commissioner of Police Chester Williams to advise the Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, to “be careful of where he goes and what he does.”

This was reportedly the Commissioner’s response to reports of someone issuing public messages threatening to harm Barrow some days ago. It is not known what led to the threat being issued.

Barrow has not publicly commented, but August called on the Commissioner to announce that round-the-clock security would be provided for the Leader for the duration of the threat.
