Belize face Martinique on Monday in 2022 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship in Florida

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under-15 Belize Girls National Football Team (BGNT) play Martinique today Monday in their second match in the 2022 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship (CGU15C) in Tampa, Florida. The match was set to kick off at 11:00 am (9:00 am Belize).

The U-15 BGNT got off to a good start on Sunday defeating Anguilla 3-1 at the Hillsborough County Tournament Sportsplex in Tampa.

Aisha Flores led Belize with a brace. Shakisha Jones scored the other.

In the other C Group game in the League B, today’s rivals Martinique slipped past Bermuda 1-0 on a goal by Eden Dincuff.

Belize will close Group C action against Bermuda on Wednesday August 3 at 11:00 am (9:00 am Belize).

In other games on Sunday, in Group D, the US Virgin Islands (USVI) ran over the Bahamas 7-1 on five goals by Gabriella Quezada, while Aruba edged Honduras 1-0 on a Bindiya Wadhwani goal.

In Group E, Guyana drew 2-2 with Turks and Caicos Islands. Jayda Schoburgh netted a brace for Guyana and Rosaria Talbot responded in kind for Turks and Caicos Islands. 

In the other Group E match, Nicaragua romped over Cayman Islands 5-0 led by Aneth Lopez’s brace.
