By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring 4 tropical waves in the Atlantic, 2 of those in the Caribbean.
The first is a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic located off the coast of Africa north of Cape Verde. This system is moving to the west at 17 mph and is embedded in Saharan dust.
The second is a tropical wave in the central Atlantic located between Cape Verde and the British Virgin Islands. It’s moving to the west at 19 mph and is also embedded in Saharan dust.
In the Caribbean, the NHC is keeping a close eye on a tropical wave in the eastern Caribbean located south of Puerto Rico. It’s moving to the west at 18 mph.
Another tropical wave in the central Caribbean is located south of Havana. It’s moving to the west at 17 mph.
The NHC reminds the public to remain alert and prepared.
