By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The 6th Annual Grand Caribe Deep Sea Classic was held this weekend in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

The event began on Friday, July 29, and ended on Sunday, July 31 with over $200,000 in cash and prizes. The mega event saw the participation of many experienced fisherfolks and even international participants.

This year, the fishing content creator with over 4 million subscribers, Blacktiph, participated in the highly regarded event.

Also, fitness social media influencer Demi Bagby came to San Pedro to fish in the deep blues.

Grand Caribe is the only approved weigh station in Belize and the region by the official International Game Fishing Association (IGFA). The IGFA is a strong advocate for marine habitats conservation and is considered the world’s governing body for sport fishing.
