BTB says Belize International Music and Food Festival Day 2 was huge success

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The Belize International Music and Food Festival Day 2 brought the energy to the Saca Chispas Field on Sunday, July 31st. From punta to cumbia to soca, the music had the crowd rocking to every beat,” said the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) of the first-of-its-kind festival held in San Pedro Ambergris Caye on the weekend.

“The Belize International Music and Food Festival ended with a fiery crowd, dancing and singing along with friends and family from local and abroad,” said the BTB of Day 2 of the festival which featured performances by C Wills, TLC Band, Flako Leslie, Supa G, and the vibrant Latino band Sonora Dinamita. The Mexican cumbia orchestra was followed by Ernestine Carballo, TR Shine, the powerhouse headliner Patrice Roberts alongside Teddyson John, Farmer Nappy, Ricardo Drue, and Lil Natty & Thunda, who all rocked the massive crowd.

These performers followed Day 1’s “stellar performances by local and international artists and DJs. Headliners included Timaya, DeMarco, Barrington Levy, and Grammy-award winning performing artist, Koffee!”

Of course, BTB had to mention the food.

“The festival opened with the rich flavours of over 20 food vendors who served up a variety of street eats and cultural cuisine,” said BTB.

And the fishing.

The 6th Annual Grand Caribe Deep Sea Classic ran from Friday, July 29, to Sunday, July 31, with over $200,000 in cash and prizes. BTB said ‘many experienced fisherfolks and even international participants’ competed in this ‘mega event’.

“This year, the fishing content creator with over 4 million subscribers, Blacktiph, participated in the highly regarded event! Also, fitness social media influencer Demi Bagby came to San Pedro to fish in the deep blues!”

And to top it off the Grand Caribe also hosted the BTB Connect Expo on Saturday, July 30, said BTB.

“The event hosted over twenty vendors from various sectors such as eye care, distillery, financial institutions, law firms, pastry shops, and many others!”
