National Hurricane Center monitoring 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic.

The first is a tropical wave in the far eastern Atlantic, located north of Cape Verde. It’s moving to the west at 11 mph.

Forecasters are also looking at another tropical wave in the central Atlantic located between the British Virgin Islands and Cape Verde. It’s moving to the west at 17 mph.

The third system is a tropical wave located in the central Caribbean and extends from southwest Haiti to northeast Colombia. It’s moving to the west at 11 mph.

The public is reminded to remain alert and be prepared.
