By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes are in high spirits in El Salvador, preparing for Wednesday’s match against Platense in the Scotiabank Concacaf.

“This morning our boys got up for an early training session and returned to a good breakfast. They are excited and determined. Losing is not an option they say,” said a Verdes post on social media at midday on Tuesday.

“We will carry our country on our backs, and we will make our Jewel proud,” said the post.

“Verdes FC, one team, one nation Belize.”

The National Champions arrived in El Salvador late on Sunday evening after traveling all day through Guatemala.

On Monday, they did some light training at the hotel where they are staying in San Salvador and were expected to train at the Cuscatlán Stadium this afternoon prior to their game at 8:00 pm on Wednesday.

Last week, both teams played to a 0-0 draw at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

The winner of the home and away games advances to the next round against Salvadoran champions Alianza.
